Valencia protesters demand total arms embargo on Israel

Thousands of protesters marched through the center of Valencia on Sunday to demand a total arms embargo against Israel and the severance of all diplomatic relations with the country. The demonstration, organized by groups including BDS País Valencià and the Red Solidaria contra la Ocupación de Palestina (RESCOP), coincided with the third anniversary of the start of the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

Participants carried banners calling for a “Free Palestine” and criticized the Spanish government, with slogans such as “Israel genocida. España patrocina”. Organizers highlighted the extreme humanitarian situation in Gaza and the increasing violence in the West Bank, calling for the release of over 10,000 detained Palestinians.

While Spanish Royal Decree-Law 10/2025 previously established certain prohibitions on the transfer of defense and dual-use materials to Israel, protesters argued these measures are insufficient and called for a complete cessation of military cooperation and arms trade.
