Valencia regional government extends transport fare cuts and invests €3 million in publishing

The Generalitat Valenciana has approved a decree extending reduced‑fare subsidies for Metrovalència and other regional public‑transport services until 31 December 2026. The measure keeps free travel for children under 14, a 50 % discount for young people and at least a 40 % discount for other users, while also compensating transport operators for the lower prices.

In a separate initiative, the regional government announced a funding programme of more than €3 million for the Valencian publishing sector in 2026. The plan targets four pillars: improving editorial production quality, promoting reading habits, supporting neighbourhood bookshops, and boosting international visibility of Valencian titles through translation and fair participation. Both actions aim to strengthen public services and cultural industries in the region.
