Valencia reopens renovated Jardín del Túria athletics track
The athletics track at Estadi del Túria, located in section III of the Jardín del Túria, has reopened following a comprehensive renovation of its pavement. The project was a collaborative effort between the Valencia City Council and the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich Marathon through the ‘Comparte Maratón València – Instalaciones’ initiative.
The renovation addressed wear and tear caused by daily use by local clubs and athletes. The investment, exceeding 700,000 euros, funded the renewal of the track ring, start and braking zones, long jump and triple jump lanes, pole vault corridors, and javelin throwing lanes. The new pavement features a specialized bottom layer designed to absorb impact and return energy during running.
In addition to the track improvements, the investment included the purchase of a finish-line video system to benefit local schools, amateur runners, and federated athletes. The facility, which had not seen pavement updates since 2018, is expected to see a progressive return of training groups and sports clubs.
