Valencia Researchers Unveil MetaPulse and AI Liquid Biopsy Tools for Cancer
Ana González Suárez, a researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (UPV), has developed MetaPulse, a novel electroporation‑based technology aimed at treating multiple liver metastases with higher efficacy and fewer side effects. The project, funded by a Leonardo Beca from the Fundación BBVA, seeks to improve patient outcomes by reaching tumors that are difficult to treat with conventional methods.
Separately, the Hospital General de Valencia and UPV’s VRAIN institute are collaborating on an artificial‑intelligence system for liquid‑biopsy analysis under the PREDICTF project. The AI tool estimates circulating tumor DNA levels in blood samples to determine whether sufficient molecular information is present for reliable diagnosis, reducing unnecessary tests and enabling more personalized cancer therapies.
