Valencia resident faces eviction after decade-long legal battle

Daniel González faces imminent eviction from his home in Burjassot, Valencia, following a decade-long legal struggle. González originally moved into the property in 2009 as a student and has since established a life there, including completing his studies and working as a researcher for the University of Valencia.

The dispute involves the property owner, Ingrade, which entered insolvency proceedings in January 2016. Despite González consistently paying rent into a court-mandated account and having previously secured contract amendments to lower rent during the real estate crisis, the property was put up for public auction. Although González attempted to exercise a right to purchase the home and has received two court rulings in his favor, he now faces forced removal from the residence.
