Valencia rock climbing wall reopens after major restoration

The Valencia City Council’s Department of Parks and Gardens has completed a comprehensive restoration of the rock climbing wall (rocódromo) located in the Jardí de la Infància of Parc Central. The renovation replaced all 177 original panels with high‑pressure laminate (HPL) panels, installed more than 20,000 fastening screws, upgraded the lighting, inspected the internal structure and fully renewed the safety area.

The facility, inaugurated in 2018, had been closed for over a year because of wear from intensive use and exposure to weather. Councilor Mónica Gil said the work returns a highly demanded installation to Valencians, meeting the highest safety and quality standards and reflecting a commitment to durable, low‑maintenance solutions. The rocódromo has now reopened to the public and is expected to become a reference point for climbing enthusiasts and outdoor‑sport participants in the city.
