Valencia selects 2027 Fallera Mayor Honor Court candidates

Valencia has selected the 26 candidates for the 2027 Fallera Mayor Honor Courts during a gala held at the Roig Arena. The selection includes 13 adult candidates and 13 children, who will eventually determine the Fallera Mayor for the 2027 festivities.

The event, titled ‘Ritus’, featured a cinematic audiovisual introduction inspired by the Odyssey and included live performances by a symphony orchestra and a band. The ceremony served as a farewell to the 2026 representatives, Carmen Prades and Marta Mercader.

Political controversy has emerged regarding the event's cost. The political group Compromís reported that the gala's public expenditure reached approximately 413,888 euros, nearly tripling the 163,710 euros spent in 2022. Critics have questioned the budget allocation, noting that a significant portion was used for the venue rental and the production of the ‘Ritus’ show.
