Valencia selects composers for 2027 Fallas pasodobles

The Junta Central Fallera has concluded its first public competition to select the official pasodobles for the 2027 Fallera Mayor and Fallera Mayor Infantil of Valencia. This initiative, part of the ‘València Music City’ strategy, aims to provide formal recognition to the composers who create the festival's soundtrack.

Twelve candidates were evaluated based on their artistic career, work quality, and connection to traditional Valencian festive music. Enrique Hernandis Martínez was selected to compose the pasodoble for the 2027 Fallera Mayor, while Frank J. Cogollos will compose the piece for the Fallera Mayor Infantil. Both works will be premiered in a ceremony organized by the Junta Central Fallera in collaboration with the Municipal Symphony Band of Valencia.

In a separate development regarding the 2027 festivities, 73 candidates for the position of Fallera Mayor Infantil participated in a traditional gala afternoon at the Palacio de la Exposición. This event serves as a key evaluation phase for the jury to observe the candidates' communication skills, attitude, and social interaction as part of the selection process for the 2027 Court of Honor.
