Valencia to host free sign language guided tours
To commemorate International Sign Language Day, the Valencia City Council is hosting a series of free guided tours featuring sign language interpreters from September 23 to 27. The initiative, organized by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Municipal Office for Attention to People with Disabilities, aims to eliminate communication barriers and promote inclusive access to the city's cultural and historical heritage.
All tours are scheduled to begin at 19:00. The program includes several specific itineraries: a route tracing the historical transit of the Holy Chalice to the Cathedral; a tour following the legacy of Saint Vincent Ferrer; two separate walks dedicated to the life and presence of American writer Ernest Hemingway—one at the beach and another in the historic center; and a final tour on September 27 focused on the city's ornamental fountains.
