Valencia to host SailGP world sailing circuit in 2026

The Marina de Valencia will host the SailGP world sailing circuit on September 5 and 6, 2026. This event marks the tenth stop of the 2026 season and serves as the only Spanish stop in the international circuit.

Thirteen international teams will compete using F50 catamarans, high-tech vessels equipped with hydrofoils capable of exceeding speeds of 100 km/h. The Spanish team, Los Gallos, will be the sole representative from Spain in the competition.

Juanfran Pérez Llorca, president of the Generalitat, stated that the Spain Sail Grand Prix will position Valencia as a global epicenter for high-performance sailing. The agreement ensures that SailGP will remain in Valencia for at least three years, leveraging the city's maritime infrastructure to promote sports, technology, and tourism.
