Valencia tourism surge sees hotels over 90% occupancy

Hotel occupancy in the Valencian Community reached record levels in the first half of June, with Valencia province averaging 92.4% and the city itself at 92.7%. Nearby destinations also posted strong figures: Gandia exceeded 93%, Benidorm recorded 88.5% (nearly half of its guests were British), and Alicante province averaged 81.2% during the same period.

The rise is attributed to warm weather, major events such as the Las Hogueras de San Juan festival in Alicante, and sustained international demand. Beaches in Valencia city were crowded as locals and tourists sought relief from high temperatures, reinforcing the region’s appeal for both domestic and foreign visitors. Industry leaders see the data as a positive indicator for the upcoming summer months, expecting continued benefits for hotels, restaurants, and other tourism‑related businesses.
