Valencia youth face housing and emancipation challenges

A municipal infobarometer conducted by the Valencia City Council among 2,100 residents aged 18 to 35 reveals significant challenges regarding housing and independence. The survey indicates that 55% of young people in the city have not yet achieved emancipation, citing housing and the ability to live independently as their primary concerns.

Regarding housing, 61% of respondents live in rental properties, while 25% report owning their home through purchase or mortgage. While 71% of the surveyed youth express satisfaction with their current jobs and leisure time, only 47% are satisfied with their household income. This discrepancy highlights the economic barriers to housing stability.

Other findings show that 33.3% of respondents identify housing and emancipation as their main issues, followed by employment at 26.6%. Among those still living with their parents, 41% cited studies as the primary reason for remaining at home.
