Spanish towns host summer patron saint festivals

Various towns in Spain are hosting patron saint festivals and cultural celebrations. In Pinto, festivities run from August 8 to 15, featuring religious services for the Virgin of the Assumption alongside a 'Remember Festival' with electronic and techno music, as well as musical tributes to Spanish bands like La Oreja de Van Gogh and Extremoduro.

Alpedrete is celebrating the Fiestas de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora from August 14 to 16. The program includes a 'Frank Motor Show,' a traditional procession, an artisanal market, and the 'La Molona' spectacle, which fuses traditional flamenco with urban rhythms.

In Buñuel, the patron saint festivities in honor of Santa Ana are scheduled from August 14 to 22. The program features a popular lunch, a procession accompanied by local music bands and dancers, and various musical performances.

Broader regional activity in Spanish rural areas includes agricultural tasks such as harvesting almonds, stone fruit, and potatoes, alongside early grape harvesting. While cultural weeks and illuminated monument tours bring visitors to many towns, local concerns regarding rural depopulation persist.
