Valencian Community allocates municipal land for hospital and housing projects

The Valencia city council has granted the Fundación del Instituto Valenciano de Oncología (IVO) a 1,743.30‑square‑metre municipal parcel to expand the Campanar hospital. The plan calls for two new blocks, one five storeys and another twelve storeys, and includes the re‑classification of nearby urban land as green zones and the creation of a €1.5 million children’s park in the former riverbed of the Turia.

In Alicante, the Generalitat has approved the use of a 5,180‑square‑metre public site on Hermanos Machado street for the construction of about 52 protected‑public housing units. The development will be carried out under a future‑work swap scheme as part of the Plan VIVE, which aims to create 10,000 affordable homes in the Valencian Community during the current legislative term.
