Valencian Education Department changes teacher exam regulations

The Conselleria de Educación, Cultura y Universidades in the Valencian Community has announced a change in the regulatory framework for upcoming teacher recruitment exams (oposiciones). For candidates scheduled to begin testing on September 12, the written exam (Part A) and the practical case study (Part B) will now be evaluated based on the legislation applicable to the 2026-2027 academic year.

However, the second stage of the process—the defense of classroom programming—will still be governed by the 2025-2026 regulations. This split in applicable laws has drawn sharp criticism from labor unions such as UGT and STEPV. Union representatives argue that changing the rules just one month before the exams undermines transparency and predictability, forcing candidates to revise months of preparation to align with new legislative requirements.
