Valencian Education Dept alters teacher exam rules a month before test

The Conselleria de Educación of the Comunitat Valenciana issued an urgent clarification that changes the legislative reference for the teacher recruitment exam. For the first part of the test (Part A), candidates must use the curriculum and regulations in force for the 2026‑2027 academic year, updated in June. For the second part (Part B), the 2025‑2026 curriculum remains applicable.

The announcement came only a month before the September exams, prompting strong criticism from candidates and unions. The major teachers’ union STEVP, represented by Marc Candela, and the UGT have called for a rectification, arguing the change is neither transparent nor predictable. Applicants now have to revise study material, update legislation references and redo practical cases, with the controversy spreading widely on social media.
