Valencian Generalitat extends social services funding to 2028, Spain authorises €200 m emergency credits

The Generalitat Valenciana has approved the extension of its concerted social‑services agreements until 30 June 2028, allocating a total of €742.7 million. The funding covers disability and mental‑health care (€362.6 m), child and adolescent services (€204.4 m), elderly dependent care (€138 m) and programmes for vulnerable groups (€37.7 m). The measure, published in the official gazette, aims to guarantee continuity of care while the system is modernised, though sector organisations have warned that the financing modules have not been fully updated.

At the national level, the Spanish government, operating with a budget prorogued since 2023, authorised almost €200 million in supplementary and extraordinary credits for mutuals and the Social Security system between January and June 2026. A total of 39 budget extensions were used, with €76.2 million in thirteen operations during Q1 and €121.2 million in twenty‑six operations during Q2. Specific mutuals received credits – for example, Asepeyo €14.3 million, M.A.Z €5.27 million, Egarsat €4.9 million – to meet payroll and other operating expenses.
