Valencian Government Allocates €1.41 bn for New School and Education Infrastructure
Juanfran Pérez Llorca, president of the Generalitat Valenciana, announced a total investment of €1.410 billion in educational infrastructure through 2029. The funding includes €830 million for the Pla Edificant programme, €400 million for direct regional investments, €40 million for the Plan Recole aimed at modernising infant, primary and special‑education schools, and €140 million for the Edu Clima plan, of which €2 million will be used to climate‑proof classrooms damaged by the recent DANA floods.
A key element of the programme is the new CEIP Sant Joan de Moró, whose construction was signed on 2 July and is slated to open for the 2026‑27 academic year. The €8 million school will consolidate infant and primary education in the municipality, providing modern, accessible facilities. Pérez Llorca noted that the region has already executed 76 % of the Pla Edificant budget since 2024, compared with 24.6 % during the two previous legislatures.
