Valencian government allocates funds for agrifood industry and potato protection

The Generalitat has announced significant funding to bolster the Valencian agrifood industry and cooperatives. For the 2026 budget, 68.6 million euros have been allocated to support transformation, commercialization, and modernization. This includes 38.5 million euros for fruit and vegetable programs, 28 million euros for product commercialization, and 2.15 million euros to encourage the merger and integration of cooperatives.

In a separate initiative to protect potato cultivation, the regional government has launched a crop rotation plan to control Globodera nematode infestations. The plan offers 9 million euros in subsidies to cover costs and production losses for farmers in affected municipalities. The intensity of required rotations will vary based on the level of infestation detected in the soil.
