Valencian Government appeals to Supreme Court over school works dispute

The Valencian Government (Generalitat) has decided to appeal to the Supreme Court regarding a dispute over administrative competencies. The conflict centers on the delegation of renovation works for the CEIP La Pau school in Casinos.

Previously, the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community upheld the delegation of the project to the Casinos City Council. Despite this ruling, the Generalitat has moved to have the Supreme Court determine the extent of a government's powers while in a caretaker or functional capacity. This legal delay has halted necessary infrastructure improvements at the school, leaving the local administration unable to address the building's deteriorating conditions.
