Valencian government implements new staffing measures and undergoes leadership changes

The Valencian government (Generalitat) has established an exceptional procedure to address staffing shortages within the Valencian Social Services System. When existing temporary employment lists fail to provide candidates for roles involving direct care, the Ministry of Social Services, Family, and Children will be permitted to request lists of job seekers from Labora. This mechanism is intended to ensure continuity of service during periods of vacations, leaves of absence, or temporary disabilities.

To use this measure, the Ministry must first provide a report proving that candidates could not be found through standard temporary employment pools. Selection from Labora will be based on the seniority of the job seekers. This procedure is an exceptional measure and does not replace current temporary employment lists, which remain the primary method for recruitment.

Separately, the Valencian Executive (Consell) has undergone significant administrative turnover over the past year. Since the start of the political term, approximately 83 changes have been made to high-ranking positions, affecting nearly two-thirds of the administrative structure designed in August. These changes include 48 departures and appointments and 36 shifts in competencies, occurring during a period of leadership transition following the departure of Carlos Mazón and the investiture of Juanfran Pérez Llorca.
