Valencian Government Releases Accessible Emergency Guides for Floods and Snow

The Generalitat Valenciana has produced emergency preparedness materials tailored for people with disabilities, seniors and other vulnerable groups. The guides cover actions to take during floods and heavy snow, and are available in Braille, sign language, audio formats and easy‑read text. Development was led by the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response in partnership with the ONCE, the Deaf Federation of the Valencian Community, and inclusion groups such as CERMI. The launch, attended by the regional Social Services minister Elena Albalat and the Emergency minister Juan Carlos Valderrama, emphasized that accessibility must be central to public policies. A second phase will adapt similar accessible content for other hazards like fires and earthquakes.
