Valencian Government steps up disability inclusion in public service and flood plans

The Valencian Institute of Public Administration (IVAP) and the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI) have launched a joint training programme for people with disabilities seeking public‑sector jobs and for staff who will support their integration in the regional administration. The initiative aims to improve service quality and promote equal career opportunities within the public sector.

CERMI‑CV has also urged the Generalitat to embed accessibility and inclusion principles in the revised Territorial Action Plan for Flood Risk Prevention (PATRICOVA). The group stresses that emergency alerts, evacuation routes and shelter facilities must be fully accessible, using multiple communication channels and adaptive transport, to ensure people with disabilities receive the same protection during flood events.

Both actions reflect the regional government's commitment to a more inclusive administration and to safer disaster‑response planning for all citizens.
