Imserso tourism program faces industry warnings amid new reservation launch

The Imserso social tourism program for the 2026-2027 season will begin commercialization on September 14. The program offers 879,213 places, including coastal, island, and cultural trips. Key features include a 50-euro rate for low-income pensioners and the option to travel with pets. Reservations will be released in stages by autonomous community, with different dates for preferred and non-preferred users.

However, the program faces significant criticism from the hospitality sector. The hotel association Hosbec has warned of potential winter closures, stating that frozen government tariffs have made participation unsustainable due to rising operating costs. Fede Fuster, president of Hosbec, noted that losses are becoming unmanageable.

The Generalitat Valenciana has expressed support for hotel owners, with Industry Minister Marián Cano accusing the central government of ‘condemning to death’ the program by failing to adjust economic conditions to current realities. The regional government has previously requested a review of prices and increased budget allocations to ensure the program's viability.
