Valencian Justice Department pays €9.8 million to fund free legal aid
The Conselleria de Justicia, Transparencia y Participación of the Valencian Community transferred €9,828,910.10 for the second bimonthly period of 2026 to finance the Turno de Oficio, the system that provides free legal assistance to low‑income citizens. €8,640,837.19 of the payment was allocated to the Valencian Council of Lawyers and €1,169,315.01 to the Council of Procurators, with additional small investments for each profession.
Councilor Nuria Martínez emphasized that free justice is an essential public service that ensures vulnerable people can access courts and defend their rights, and reiterated the administration’s duty to maintain the service efficiently and respect the professionals who deliver it.
