Valencian municipalities celebrate patronal festivals

The television program ‘Terra de festes’ is documenting the patronal festivals across various municipalities in the Valencian Community. The latest episode features celebrations in Massalavés, Alcalà de Xivert, and Benifato.

In Massalavés, festivities include a costume and float parade alongside the traditional ‘Disparà de tronadors’, where the Penya Coetera manually prepares and fires dozens of thunderous pyrotechnics. Alcalà de Xivert’s celebrations combine family activities, such as ‘Dia de la Bici’, with religious solemnity during the procession in honor of Sant Joan Baptista. Benifato is also highlighted for its traditional celebrations involving local bell ringing.
