Valencian municipalities demand urgent water management meetings
The Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) has requested an urgent coordination meeting with water management authorities, including the Júcar, Segura, and Ebro Hydrographic Confederations. FVMP President Paqui Bartual emphasized that municipal safety must take precedence over legal debates, citing the need for technical diagnoses regarding the current state of riverbeds ahead of the autumn rainy season and potential DANA weather events.
In a separate environmental initiative, the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ) has launched a restoration project for the Carraixet ravine in Bétera. With a budget exceeding 520,000 euros, the works aim to recover riparian forests and improve fluvial ecosystem functionality across more than 50,000 square meters. This project is being conducted in coordination with the Generalitat Valenciana, with the Bétera City Council committing to the subsequent maintenance of the treated section.
