Valencian opposition criticizes suspension of ICO housing guarantees

Candela Anglés, the housing spokesperson for the Popular Party in the Valencian Corts, has denounced the Spanish central government for the suspension of ICO housing guarantees for young people. Anglés claims that hundreds of young Valencians who had already processed applications since 2024 are now facing denials, leaving them unable to secure mortgages.

The opposition argues that the freeze is due to management deficiencies and a lack of coordination with banking institutions. Anglés contrasted this situation with the previous administration's management, noting that over 5,000 young people in the Valencian Community had successfully secured up to 100% financing through regional guarantees since the start of the legislature.
