Valencian PP claims Spanish government owes healthcare system over 1 billion euros

The People's Party (PP) in the Valencian Community has accused the Spanish central government of owing more than 1,039 million euros to the regional healthcare system. Nieves Martínez, the PP's health spokesperson in Les Corts, stated that this debt represents approximately 11.33% of the entire budget for the Valencian Department of Health.

The outstanding amount includes 23.1 million euros for primary care services provided to patients from other autonomous communities between 2012 and 2013, and 887.4 million euros for specialized hospital care provided since July 2012. Additionally, there are 30.9 million euros pending from the Health Cohesion Fund and 98.3 million euros related to healthcare provided to foreign citizens.

Martínez criticized the administration of Pedro Sánchez for failing to meet these obligations, arguing that the funds could be used to improve infrastructure, technology, and resources for Valencian citizens.
