Valencian teachers await payment for 2025 exam duties after 420 days

Teachers serving on examination tribunals for the 2025 competitive exams in the Valencian Community have gone more than 420 days without receiving payment for their mandatory work. The educators, who performed these duties during May, June, and July 2025, report that owed amounts can exceed 3,000 euros in many cases. This sum is intended to compensate for additional workload and reimbursed expenses, such as travel and meals, which many teachers paid for out of pocket.

The Coordinadora d'Assemblees Docents and Assemblees Docents PV have denounced the situation as “unsustainable” and have filed a formal complaint with the Síndic de Greuges to seek a resolution. The teachers noted a discrepancy in administrative speed, pointing out that while their payments are delayed, the Education Department has already successfully processed salary deductions related to previous strikes.

The Conselleria de Educación maintains that 65% of the committed amounts have already been paid and claims that payments resumed following the approval of the Generalitat's budgets. However, affected teachers claim they have received no payments during August or September and have faced only administrative silence regarding the outstanding debt.
