Tornem! tournament celebrates Valencian youth football recovery

The second edition of the ‘Tornem!’ tournament was held in Manises, Valencia, serving as a symbol of the recovery of youth football following the devastating floods (DANA) that affected the region. Organized by the Valencian Football Federation and Agencia EFE, the event brought together nearly 200 players and hundreds of spectators.

In the boys' under-12 category, the Valencian regional selection claimed victory after defeating Valencia CF in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw. In the girls' category, Levante UD secured the title with a 3-0 win against the Valencian regional under-12 selection.

The tournament featured elite youth teams from clubs including Valencia CF, Elche CF, Levante UD, CD Castellón, and Villarreal CF. Officials, including the president of the Higher Sports Council, noted that the event’s name, ‘Tornem’ (meaning ‘we return’), reflects the community's resilience and the restoration of local sports infrastructure.
