Valencia's Cinema Jove festival reports full sessions and new youth programs
The 41st edition of Cinema Jove, the international film festival of the Comunitat Valenciana, was organized by the Conselleria d’Educació, Cultura i Universitats and the Institut Valencià de Cultura. Under new director María Albiñana, the festival achieved full capacity in almost all screenings of the “La jove Greta Gerwig” cycle at the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània.
Two new initiatives were launched: Cinema Jove Meets, a professional networking platform that filled its slots immediately, and CinemaKids, a programme for children aged three to nine that attracted families to the festival. Round‑table discussions covered artificial intelligence, international co‑productions, women‑directed short‑film animation and the distribution of feature films. A statistical study titled “El cortometraje español en 50 datos” was also presented, highlighting the sector’s status. Albiñana emphasized the intergenerational dialogue that brought together young audiences and older cinephiles.
