Valenciennes dismisses coach Pierre Blois after 13-0 victory

Valenciennes has dismissed head coach Pierre Blois despite the team securing a historic 13-0 victory against ninth-division side Habarcq in the fifth round of the Coupe de France. The club announced the decision on Monday, October 12, citing the team's poor performance in Ligue 3.

In the national third division, Valenciennes currently sits in 15th place, holding a narrow advantage over the relegation zone. Since Blois took command in February, the team has recorded only two wins in nine league matches.

Samuel Goethals has been appointed as interim manager and will be assisted by Rudy Mater. Goethals is expected to make his debut on Saturday against Amiens.
