Valentin Ceaușescu makes rare appearance in Bucharest with football legends

Valentin Ceaușescu, the eldest son of former Romanian leaders Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu, has made a rare public appearance in Bucharest. He was recently photographed at a local establishment alongside several prominent figures from the history of the Steaua București football club.

Ceaușescu was seen at a table with Gabi Balint, Marius Lăcătuș, Victor Pițurcă, and Tudorel Stoica. Balint, Lăcătuș, and Stoica were members of the squad that won the European Cup in 1986, while Pițurcă was also a key player for the club during that era. The meeting highlights the historical association between Valentin Ceaușescu and the military club during its period of peak European success.

Since the fall of the communist regime, Ceaușescu has maintained a discreet public life. His previous notable appearance occurred in November 2025 at a documentary premiere for Ladislau Bölöni, a time when reports surfaced regarding his health and requests for state assistance for medical treatments.
