Valentin Ionescu proposes Economic Autonomy Capital concept
Valentin Ionescu, President of the Institute of Financial Studies (ISF), has proposed a new research direction regarding Economic Autonomy Capital (EAC) during the OSEEC 2026 conference at Aurel Vlaicu University in Arad.
EAC is described as an integrative theoretical framework that treats economic autonomy as an accumulable and measurable resource. It results from the interaction of financial, productive, human, and institutional capital. The concept aims to address the challenges of financial education in the digital age, where access to information is easy but the ability to judge that information is critical.
Ionescu emphasizes that while technology and artificial intelligence can provide rapid financial recommendations, individuals must possess the skills to verify advice, understand missing information, and adapt decisions to their specific life circumstances. This approach draws inspiration from the work of Nobel laureate economist Amartya Sen regarding human capabilities and real opportunities.
