Valentina Cavallar joins SD Worx to support Anna van der Breggen at Tour de France Femmes

Austrian Valentina Cavallar, a former Olympic rower (Tokyo 2021), switched to professional cycling in 2023. After a brief stint with French team Arkéa B&B Hotels in early 2024, she impressed in mountain stages, winning the Col du Glandon classification and finishing 22nd overall in her debut Tour de France Femmes, including a seventh‑place on Alpe d’Huez.

Following Arkéa’s insolvency, Cavallar signed with Dutch WorldTour squad SD Worx – Protime. She will act as a mountain domestique for veteran Anna van der Breggen, who is targeting a podium finish. Cavallar has already posted top‑10 results in the 2024 Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España, underscoring her climbing strength. She said, “I want to support her as best as possible and get good results on the climbs.” The rider prepares for her second Tour de France Femmes, aiming to help the team contend for overall victory.
