Valentina Pavličić to speak at European Law Institute conference in Paris

Valentina Pavličić, President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, will participate as the sole speaker from the Western Balkans at the annual European Law Institute (ELI) conference. The event is scheduled to take place from September 1 to 4 at Paris-Panthéon-Assas University (Sorbonne) in Paris, under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Pavličić is expected to address critical issues regarding sexual violence, focusing on the complexities of evidence in criminal cases involving sexual freedoms. Her presentation will also cover the importance of applying European human rights standards as Montenegro pursues European Union accession, emphasizing that human dignity, fair trials, and judicial quality are central to the judiciary's responsibilities.

The conference will include representatives from major institutions such as the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and UNIDROIT. This year's gathering also marks the 15th anniversary of the ELI and the centenary of UNIDROIT.
