Valentina Pravdina wins Éva Marton International Singing Competition
Russian soprano Valentina Pravdina won the 7th Éva Marton International Singing Competition, taking home the 30,000 euro first prize. Pravdina also received the 5,000 euro special prize for the best performance of a Liszt song and the audience award.
South Korean bass Seokjun Kim finished in second place, winning 20,000 euros, while Armenian soprano Arpi Sinanyan earned the third prize of 10,000 euros. Georgian soprano Tata Razmadze was awarded the 10,000 euro Éva Marton personal special prize.
Additional awards presented during the gala included the 1,000 euro Bravo Baritone Award to Latvian singer Daniils Pogoriless. The competition, held at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, featured performers accompanied by the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra under the baton of Kálmán Szennai. The event saw a record 265 valid applications from around the world.
