Valentino fashion show features literary theme and silk waist belts

At the Valentino Spring/Summer 2027 fashion show in Paris, creative director Alessandro Michele introduced a literary theme titled ‘Antibiblioteka: Katalog nepročitanih’. Guests were invited to bring a book to donate to local libraries, such as the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève.

Notable attendees included Serbian influencer Tamara Kalinić, who carried a French edition of Ivo Andrić’s Nobel Prize-winning novel, ‘Na Drini ćuprija’. Other guests included Cynthia Erivo and Vanessa Scalera, who brought works by James Baldwin and Fyodor Dostoevsky, respectively.

The collection also highlighted a prominent accessory trend for the upcoming seasons: wide silk or satin waist belts. These accessories, seen in collections by Valentino and Conner Ives, are designed to visually slim and elongate the figure, moving from traditional formal wear into broader fashion applications.
