Valenza police arrest woman for series of basement burglaries
Carabinieri have arrested a 39-year-old woman in Valenza, Italy, suspected of carrying out a series of basement burglaries. The arrest occurred after off-duty officers noticed the woman acting suspiciously near via Bologna. After briefly losing sight of her, officers caught her in the act of forcing entry into a residential basement to steal property.
During the subsequent search, authorities recovered stolen clothing and various burglary tools, including screwdrivers, files, and pliers. They also seized seven antique daggers, the origin of which is currently being investigated.
Further investigation using public and private surveillance footage linked the woman to an additional 23 thefts committed between September 5 and September 24. While she was arrested in flagrante for the recent residential burglary, she has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Alessandria in relation to the previous incidents.
