The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in Iași is conducting an investigation into businessman Fănel Bogos regarding allegations of influence peddling and blackmail. The case involves claims that political and administrative figures were pressured to replace the director of the Vaslui Sanitary-Veterinary Directorate (DSVSA) with a preferred candidate to facilitate a €3 million compensation claim and reduce sanitary inspections at Bogos's poultry farms.

Cristina Trăilă, the former Deputy Secretary General of the Government, is a suspect in the case. She is accused of complicity in using influence or authority to obtain undue benefits for Bogos. Trăilă recently appeared at the DNA headquarters, stating she requested the hearing herself and promised to make public statements regarding her testimony.

Valeriu Iftime, President of the Botoșani County Council and a PNL leader, was also summoned to appear as a witness. Iftime stated he has no involvement in the case and is being questioned regarding his professional relationship with Alexandru Bociu, President of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA). Prosecutors are investigating whether political discussions occurred regarding the maintenance or replacement of officials in connection to the Bogos case.
