Valero Energy sees price target increases from major analysts

Valero Energy has seen several analysts raise their price targets for the company. Barclays increased its target from $323.00 to $441.00 while maintaining an ‘overweight’ rating. Raymond James Financial also raised its target from $350.00 to $450.00 with a ‘strong-buy’ rating. Other institutions, including Citigroup, Bank of America, and TD Cowen, have also adjusted their targets upward.

Despite these optimistic price targets, some analysis suggests that the company’s recent high profitability may be temporary. This perspective attributes recent strong profits to geopolitical commodity price shocks rather than long-term growth. Concerns have been raised regarding future earnings as crack spreads and commodity prices are projected to normalize, potentially reducing margins in the oil refining sector.
