Valheim officially releases version 1.0 after five years in Early Access

After more than five years in Early Access, the Viking survival-crafting game Valheim has officially released its 1.0 version. Developed by Iron Gate Studio and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, the full release has received high critical acclaim, including a 90% aggregate review score on Metacritic and over 250,000 ‘Very Positive’ reviews on Steam.

The 1.0 update introduces significant new content, most notably a wintry biome called the ‘Deep North.’ The expansion also adds over 40 new weapons and more than 30 new crafting materials. While previously limited to PC and Xbox, the full launch expands accessibility with new versions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
