Vali Badea recalls scoring against Real Madrid 20 years ago

Former footballer Vali Badea has reflected on the 20th anniversary of his goal scored against Real Madrid while playing for FCSB (formerly Steaua Bucharest). Recalling the 1-4 match, Badea described the intense emotions and the overwhelming experience of facing world-class players such as Fabio Cannavaro.

Badea noted that the team was deeply affected by the magnitude of the opponent, mentioning that the coaching staff held intensive discussions throughout the week leading up to the duel. He admitted to being so focused and emotional during the match day meeting that he could barely see or hear anything clearly.
