Valkenburg announces new attractions for Christmas season

The city of Valkenburg in South Limburg has announced its program for the upcoming Christmas season, running from November 13, 2026, to January 3, 2027. The festivities will include two new attractions: the WinterGlow outdoor Christmas market at Walramplein and the Ongelofelijk Zand sand sculpture festival located in the Nieuwe Kerk.

These new events will join existing traditions such as the underground Christmas markets and the Landal Christmas Parade. The city previously received recognition as the best Christmas market in the Netherlands in 2025 and ranked seventh in a competition for the best European Christmas markets.

Manon Luijten, director of Visit Zuid-Limburg, noted that growing online interest and strong initial ticket sales are encouraging signs. Visitors are advised to reserve tickets and plan travel in advance due to the anticipated popularity of the event.
