Valkhof Museum appoints Herman Tibosch as new director

Herman Tibosch has been appointed as the new director-manager of the Valkhof Museum in Nijmegen. He is scheduled to take office on October 1, 2026, succeeding Hedwig Saam, who is retiring.

The Board of Supervisors selected Tibosch to continue the museum’s current strategic direction following its major renovation and reopening in June 2026. Tibosch, 54, brings extensive experience in museum management, having previously served as director-manager of Museum Jan Cunen in Oss and working in education and interaction at the Kröller-Müller Museum.

As a resident of Nijmegen, Tibosch expressed enthusiasm for the role, noting the opportunity to contribute to the city's cultural climate. The museum aims to use this leadership transition to enter a new phase of connecting art and history with the public and the local community.
