Pedro Sánchez resumes election campaign in Valencia

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has officially resumed his pre-campaign activities with a large rally in Valencia, marking his first major public appearance following the recent railway accident in Urda, Toledo, which resulted in 69 deaths. During the event, Sánchez addressed the tragedy, stating that his government has maintained transparency and assumed political responsibility through the resignation of former Transport Minister Óscar Puente.

Sánchez used the platform to call for mobilization against the rise of the far-right, citing political shifts in Brazil and the United States as examples. He emphasized that Spain must be governed from Spain rather than being influenced by external political movements. The rally, held at the Cabanyal sports center, saw high attendance, with many supporters gathering outside the venue to follow the proceedings.

In Valladolid, the PSOE faces logistical challenges regarding election ballots. Following Óscar Puente's resignation, the Electoral Board of Valladolid ruled that his name cannot be removed from the printed ballots due to the principle of unmodifiability once candidates are proclaimed. However, the Board instructed polling officials to accept ballots where his name is crossed out in good faith, ensuring such votes are not considered null.
