Valladolid: Fatal accident on N-122 highway

A fatal accident has occurred on the N-122 highway in Valladolid, marking the fifth death this year on the stretch between Sardón de Duero and Peñafiel. The incident highlights the ongoing danger of this route as residents await the opening of the A-11 Autovía del Duero.

The Ministry of Transport expects the A-11 section in Valladolid to become operational on August 24, approximately one month later than the initial July 27 estimate. While local authorities have issued favorable reports for the opening, heavy vehicles must continue using the national road for now, as current links are restricted to local traffic. The viaduct over the Duero River is still under construction and will not be available for several months.
