Valladolid hosts Jr. NBA-WNBA tournament for 300 youth players
The Feria de Valladolid hosted a Jr. NBA-WNBA tournament, bringing together approximately 300 children aged 11 and 12. Coordinated by the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), the event allowed participants to compete in official jerseys from American professional franchises, focusing on technical learning, teamwork, and respect.
Valladolid has been selected as one of four Spanish cities to host this competition during the 2026 season. The event featured appearances by Carlos Jiménez, a former Spanish national team player and FEB ambassador, who highlighted the city’s historical connection to the sport. Local officials, including the Director of the Feria de Valladolid and the Councilor for Sports, emphasized the importance of the event for municipal facilities and the coordination with the Basketball Federation of Castilla y León.
