Castilla y León holds mass protests in solidarity with Ceuta
Thousands of people gathered across the nine capitals of Castilla y León to demonstrate solidarity with Ceuta. Organized by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), the mobilizations drew approximately 90,000 participants to demand the defense of Spain's borders and territorial integrity.
The largest concentration occurred in Salamanca, where roughly 30,000 people occupied the Plaza Mayor. During the event, the President of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, called for the restoration of normalcy for Ceuta's residents following what he described as an ‘invasion’ that occurred approximately one month ago.
Other significant gatherings took place in Valladolid, with an estimated 20,000 attendees, and León, which saw about 9,500 people. Protesters carried Spanish flags and displayed slogans such as ‘Ceuta is not for sale, Ceuta is defended’ and ‘Pedro Sánchez, resignation’.
